There are many bows in Zelda, but none of them even comes close to the Zelda Tears of the Kingdom 5 shot bow. This masterpiece shoots five arrows simultaneously that spread out and hit almost anything that dares to stand against you. While you can muster the lesser Savage Lynel bow from the man-lion-horse hybrid roaming around Hyrule, it is no match against the 5 shot bow.
The only problem is that this special bow doesn’t come so easily, and you must defeat one of the toughest foes in the entire Zelda series. If that’s not scary enough, you must fight through an entire tournament filled with deadly mini-bosses to face the final enemy. So, how to get the notorious Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom 5 shot bow? In this article, we will guide you through the entire process, let’s get started:
Zelda Tears of The Kingdom 5 Shot Bow:
If you have been following the Zelda series, you may have seen or heard about the 5 shot bow BOTW variant. Well, the good news is that you can use the same old bow with a new overhaul in the new TOTK game. As the name suggests, this bow fires 5 arrows simultaneously that spread out and hit multiple targets in front of you. On top of that, the shot will only consume 1x arrow from your inventory, how cool is that?
How to Get a 5 Shot Bow BOTW?
You can get the infamous 5-shot bow from the same locations in both BOTW and TOTK. However, the methods for acquiring these bows are quite uncertain as you must rely on your luck to drop one of these magical bows. Fortunately for us, there is another sure way to get the advanced multi-arrow bow, but that requires fighting one of the toughest boss battles in the entire realm. Next, we will discuss all the ways for you to learn where to get 5 shot bow BOTW and TOTK:
Grinding for the Bow:
The most obvious yet time-consuming way to get your hands on the 5 shot bow is to go after those enemies who wield them, i.e., the Lynels. Fortunately, this half-man—half-horse—half-lion species are scattered throughout the Hyrule, and you are bound to run into them at some point. To increase your chances, you must find and kill the White-maned Lynels and the Silver-spotted Lynels roaming in the fields around the Oseira Plains or the Coliseum Ruins.
The only catch is that most of these enemies will only drop the lesser Savage Lynel Bow (3 shot bow). However, if you remain consistent and keep grinding, you will eventually get the 5 shot bow at some point.
Use Rock Octorocks:
Another questionable yet easy way to get the 5 shot bow without fighting the boss-filled tournament is to use your Rock-October’s foes/friends, your call. Basically, these rock-spitting creatures tend to swallow any weapon or tool in front of them and then shoot back an upgraded variant of the same weapon. So, the easiest way to get the 5 shot bow is to find one of these rock-spewing beasts and place your 3 shot bow in front of it. If you are lucky, the beast will shoot back the 5 shot bow, or you can simply try again.
Keep in mind that the Rock Octorocks can only upgrade one weapon per visit. Therefore, you must save the game before placing the 3 shot bow, reload, and try again if you don’t like the upgrade. The best place to find these Rock Octorocks is the peaks around Death Mountain.
Defeat the Lynel Gauntlet:
One sure way to drop the 5 shot bow is to go after the Lynel Gauntlet and defeat all 5 Lynel variants to drop it. You can find the Gauntlet in the Floating Coliseum in The Depths under the real Coliseum. However, it’s going to be a deadly encounter, and the Lynels will keep coming one after another without giving you any breathing space.
Therefore, we recommend that you stock up on your Sundelion meals and bomb arrows. Oh, and don’t forget to bring a rock-breaking weapon or simply the 3 shot bow and some bomb arrows.
Once you start the fight, you must face the following Lynels:
- Red-Maned Lynel
- Blue-Maned Lynel
- White-Maned Lynel
- Silver-Maned Lynel
- Armored Silver-Maned Lynel
In our playthrough, defeating the lesser Lynels wasn’t really challenging as they all followed the same attack patterns, and so did we. However, the real fight began when we finally faced the Armored Silver-Maned Lynel. This aggressive beast was extremely fast to attack and retreat and was covered in thick armor made of rocks.
Fortunately, we had the bomb arrows and our lovely 3 shot bow. So, a single arrow was all it took to break away the armor, and now we were up against a normal Silver-Maned Lynel. If you follow this strategy, then it only takes a few perfectly timed dodges, some slashes on the neck, and a few swift moves to defeat the Armored Silver-Maned Lynel.
Defeating the final Lynel will drop the following rewards:
- Majora’s Mask
- 5 Shot Savage Lynel Bow
