Getting all the 20 Ancient Magic Hotspots might take a while, but after the “grind,” you’ll get five ancient magic meters. The amount of power from the Ancient Magic “blessings” can help with your magical combos and throw your top spells regularly. 

Many video games come with the “find X hidden items,” giving you more entertainment for your dollars. However, in Hogwarts Legacy, you’ll have to follow extra steps. Once you arrive at the location, cast “Revello” as you investigate the Ancient Magic Hotspot. After you cast the spell, magical traces will appear on the ground. 

The traces become active right after examining the Ancient Hotspot. Hence, you’ll get three directions from the Ancient Hotspot location.

#1: Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Hotspot North Ford Bog

Begin the “grind” using the North Ford Bog Floo Flame that leads you to the North Ford Entrance. Afterward, travel to the front of the ruins, Investigate the Ancient Magic Hotspot with Revello, and head beside the large tree.

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 1: Finding this trace is easy. Turn left from the entrance to the ruins following the magical trace. Prepare and cast the Confringo or Incendio spell once you see giant cobwebs blocking your path. After you burn the obstacles, navigate near the boxes and practice your jumping skills as you reach the top. Once you climb these blocks, you’ll find the first Magic Trace closer to some cobwebs.

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 2: Locate the entrance and turn to your right. Keep Confringo or Incendio ready, and throw your magic to the cobweb blocking your path. After it burns, you’ll see the Magic Trace right behind it.

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 3: After getting the Magic Trace 2, hop over the wall on the left. You’ll find the third Magic Trace next to some broken woodwork you can duck beneath.

#2: Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Hotspot West Forbidden Forest

Move to the second location using a West Forbidden Forest Floo Flame or by traveling to the place with your Broom. Later, follow your right from the path and move forward until you reach the familiar ruins you saw from the last location. The Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Hotspot Forbidden Forest appears after you enter the archway close to four purple toad statues.

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 1: First, move close and interact with the right-most frog. Afterward, you’ll be sent onto a ramp. Jump around the area to acquire the Magic Trace, and then use the ramp, which helps you return to the main area. 

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 2: Move back to the four purple toads and Interact with the frog close to the right-most frog. Follow along the ledge and jump once you reach the ledge on the left. You’ll find the Magic Trace right in front of you.

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 3: Return to the original ledge by jumping. Follow the path until you see the Magic Trace below you. Grab the Magic Trace by jumping down.

Use the East Hogsmeade Valley Floo Flame and move onto the path leading to the Hogsmeade Magic Hotspot. Move outside the house and walk southwest looking for the ruin. Afterward, the Ancient Magic Hotspot will appear near the stairs.

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 1: Move and grab the ladder near you. Soon, You’ll find a web of vines blocking your path to the first Ancient Magic Trace. Throw your Incendio (flame spell), which helps burn down the vines. Lastly, walk the now unblocked path and grab the first Magic Trace.

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 2: Return to the original place and look to your left. You’ll find mossy platforms that allow you to climb for the second Magic Trace.

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 3: Discover a pulley between the previous two Magic Traces. Prepare to Cast a damaging spell that can help you destroy the wall and find a new entrance. Explore the area and drop inside. Go through the ledges until you reach the final Magic Trace

#4: Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Hotspot North Hogwarts Region

Travel using the East North Hogwarts Region Floo Flame to start the fourth hotspot. Follow the path southeast past the big tree. When you see two paths, take the left, and you’ll see more ruins. Suddenly, the Ancient Magic Hotspot will appear after you. Climb the stairs of the ruins.

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 1: After investigating the Hotspot, throw another Incendio to burn vines close to you. Soon, you’ll see the first Magic Trace around the burned vines.

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 2: Throw another spell to destroy the breakable hatch next to an altar, having the first Magill Trace. Throw yourself down the hatch, move to your left, and you’ll soon see the Magic Trace floating behind the wall.

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 3: Prepare and Cast the Accio spell for the glowing bull-shaped handle in the ruin’s underground section. Hence, lowering the wall and revealing the final Magic Trace.

#5: Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Hotspot Lower Hogsfield Hogwarts Valley

Use the Lower Hogsfield Floo Flame leading to the next Ancient Magic Hotspot. Travel south from the house and keep the pace until you get close to an intersection. Move on the right path that shows cart tracks leading you to more ruins. Find the Hotspot between the grass, close to the old walls located in the ruins.

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 1: As you investigate the area, you’ll see the first Magic Trace behind the wall in front of you. It might look easy, but you have to follow a tricky path. Go to your left and use a spell to break the barriers blocking the crate. Use Accio on the box, bringing it close to the wall. Afterward, throw Leviosa to levitate the box and complete the “puzzle” by climbing along the platforms. Lastly, you’ll find the first Magic Trace under you.

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 2: Travel near the barrier you previously broke and jump onto the adjacent walls. Walk back, following the platform until the second Magic Trace appears near you. Jump down, and grab the Magic Trace.

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 3: Retrace your steps, reaching for the central area, and parkour back through the same walls as the second Magic Trace. Move forward instead of going backward behind the first hop-up. Later, when you see some vines, cast spells and reach the final Magic Trace. 

#6: Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Hotspot Hogwarts Valley 2

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 1: Throw yourself down the platform. Traverse the ruins until you find a highlighted box hidden around a tiny archway. Cast Accio, which helps you move the box close to the wooden wall. Climb the box, use the ladder, and grab the first Magic Trace. 

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 2: Travel down the staircase until you reach a gear-like structure. Cast Depulso on the gears for it to open the gate. Walk up until you see a similar system keeping another gate closed. Once again, cast Depulso, which reveals the second Magic Trace.

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 3: Discover another gear-like structure close to the previous Magic Trace. Prepare your wand and cast Depulso to open another gate. Travel around the pillar, which leads to a wooden platform. Reveal a ladder by throwing Incendio while burning the vines. Move up the ladder and clear more vines until you reach the Magic Trace.

#7: Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Hotspot Brocburrow Hogwarts Valley 3

Teleport using the Brocburrow Floo Flame for the seventh Hotspot. Move south until you see the Gilded Perch ruins (Moonstone door puzzle). Find the Ancient Magic Hotspot around the courtyard. 

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 1: Move close to the cobwebs and throw Incendio to grab the first Magic Trace.

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 2: Take care of the upcoming spiders, and continue the path until you see the second Magic Trace. 

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 3: In this part, search for a wooden box and a platform you can use. Move through the platform, which leads into a small hole in the wall. Walk through the hole in the wall and grab the final Magic Trace.

#8: Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Hotspot Feldcroft Hogwarts Valley 4

Travel by using the North Feldcroft Floo Flame for this part. Equip your Broom. Fly around the border between Feldcroft Valley and Hogwarts Valley. Move around the area until you find other ruins (west of the northern border). Go through the bridge and walk beneath the archway while activating the Hotspot.

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 1: Prepare your spells and cast Accio on a metal handle, which lowers the wooden platform. Secondly, burn the vines on the pillar with a flaming spell to reveal an entrance. Crawl beneath the wooden materials and parkour the boxes to get the first Magic Trace. 

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 2: Without leaving the building you’re exploring, look for a ladder on the opposite side. Climb up, pass through the ledge, and grab the second Magic Trace. 

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 3: Afterward, take the next ladder close to the second Magic Trace. Walk following the ledge leading to the last Magic Trace. 

#9: Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Hotspot Keenbridge (Valley Floo Flame) Hogwarts Valley 5

Walk through the Keenbridge Valley Floo Flame. Equip your Broom and fly west while searching for mossy ruins. Start walking in the area and look for some stairs. Climb and turn left for the next Hogwarts Legacy Hogwarts Valley Ancient Magic Hotspots.

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 1: Equip your Broom again, and look beneath the mossy ruins. You’ll find the first Magic Trace atop the chimney.

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 2: Once again, equip your Broom and look around. You’ll suddenly see the second Magic Trace appearing in the southwest part of the area. 

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 3: Return to the mossy ruins and fly around the place. Lastly, fly with your Broom and find the final Magic Trace around the green valley.

#10: Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Hotspot Near Keenbridge Hogwarts Valley 6

Teleport back using the Keenbridge Valley Floo Flame. Equip your Broom again, and fly east until you reach the big tower ruins. Locate the stairs and investigate the Hotspot.

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 1: Use your spells to burn down vines near the entrance and break the wooden boxes. You’ll find the first Magic Trace behind the destroyed obstacles. 

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 2: Prepare Accio and move the highlighted box near you. Cover the first Magic Trace compartment with the box. Reach the ladder and climb up, searching for another box. Remove the object (box) by using Accio one more time. Duck under a new small opening and go for the second Magic Trace.

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 3: Return to the last box and climb into the wooden platform. Parkour around the place until you find the third Magic Trace. 

#11: Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Hotspot Feldcroft Region

Travel using the North Feldcroft Floo Flame and equip your Broom to fly just a bit north. Keep navigating until you reach a bandit camp. Go through the battlements of the place and walk up the stairs. You’ll soon find a way to investigate the Hotspot.

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 1: Run through the stairs that lead to the Magic Trace.

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 2: Go beyond eastward until you reach the second tower. Prepare any flame spell (like Confringo or Incendio), and burn down the blocking vines. Uncover the entrance and grab the second Magic Trace. 

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 3: Move through the ladder behind the second trace, and you’ll soon see the final Magic Trace. 

#12: Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Hotspot Feldcroft Region 2

Teleport using the Rookwood Floo Flame. Use your Broom and fly northwards until you reach a spot between the tall tower ruins and the NPC (Non-Playable Character) Pria Treadwell. Move around the low wall, investigating the Ancient Magic Hotspot.

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 1: Move toward the tall tower and use the ladder. As you go higher, you’ll find the first Magic Trace. 

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 2: Reach further up the ladder. Reach the vines covering the wooden walls. Use any flame spell to burn the vines, allowing you to grab the second Magic Trace.

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 3: Navigate through the ledge and cast another spell to unload the pulley. Afterward, jump to the platform with the last Ancient Magic trace.

#13: Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Hotspot Feldcroft Region 3

Travel using Feldcroft Floo Flame for the next Hotspot. After you arrive, equip your Broom and fly east. Reach for the ruins close to Troll Lair. Go to the center while blasting the obstacles on your way, and investigate the Ancient Magic Hotspot.

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 1: Pass through the ruin’s archway and take the Magic Trace within the broken tower. 

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 2: Find the second Magic Trace around trees and a campfire site. Grab your Broom and fly towards the Magic Trace. 

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 3: Once again, equip your Broom and move near the ruins. Take an immediate right as you move through. You’ll soon see a tower holding the last Magic Trace. 

#14: Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Hotspot Feldcroft Region 4

Pick the Irondale Floo Flame destination for this part. After you teleport, walk southward until you reach the yellow and blue banner ruins (yes, another). Find and investigate the next Hotspot at the archway. 

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 1: Pass around the archway, the broken brick walls, and some vines. You’ll soon see the glow of the Magic Trace hidden around the vines. Prepare a flame spell and burn the natural obstacles, giving you access to the first Magic Trace.

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 2: Retrieve your steps and look for a staircase. Climb up the platform near the end of the stairs, and you’ll soon discover the second Magic Trace. 

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 3: Return to the original spot (archway). Move around the right side and pass through the platforms. Lastly, grab the final Magic Trace. 

#15: Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Hotspot Poidsear Coast

Pick the Phoenix Mountain Cave Floo Flame spot for the next Hotspot. Travel to some large ruins (south) close to the dirt road. Investigate the fifteenth Ancient Magic Hotspot around a hay storage area.

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 1: Reach the castle’s entrance and pick the Level 1 locked door using “Alohomora.” Go inside and use spells to destroy the wooden barrier. Afterward, keep going through as you destroy the stone barricade (on your left), which leads to the first Magic Trace. 

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 2: Move through the broken wooden barrier. Reach the left side of the room and burn vines with a flame spell (like Incendio). Afterward, prepare Accio and use it to pull the wooden crate towards you. Levitate the box with Leviosa until it reaches the right side of the room (near the haystack). Parkour through the new platform and move left while destroying the webs. Jump over a plank and walk through until you reach the second Magic Trace. 

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 3: For the last part of the Hotspot, reach the ladder at the end. Move up and pass through the planks leading you to the final Magic Trace

#16: Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Hotspot South Poidsear Coast 2

Teleport to the South Poidsear Coast Floo Flame and travel to the nearest location. After you leave the Floo Flame house, you’ll find the Ancient Magic Hotspot in front of the wooden bridge.

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 1: Go through the bridge until you see a tracing outline shimmering behind the tower’s barrier. Climb the platform while breaking the closest barrier, unlocking the first Magic Trace. 

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 2: Travel inside the tower. Use Accio for the metallic handles (placed on the right) to open the gate. Afterward, move towards the bigger building. Move through the broken woodwork until you reach the globe. Lastly, prepare and cast “Lumos,” which helps you raise the vines. The second Magic Trace will appear behind them. 

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 3: Return to the room with the globe. Cast one flame spell (like Incendio) to reduce the vines into ashes on the right wall. Afterward, use “Accio” on the handle to open the gate. Reach an interactable box and use “Leviosa” on it. As the interactive box floats in the air, use it to reach the upper platforms of the room. Travel to the Coastal Mine Floo Flame for the Hotspot. Equip your Broom and Fly southward until you reach some ruins, where a hostile Ingeri guards the place. Look for a round shield-tapered grave near the grass to investigate the next Hotspot.

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 1: Walk along until you find wooden boxes next to an iron cell door. Use a couple of spells to break the boxes and reveal the gate’s mechanical contraption. Prepare and cast “Depulso” on the mechanical device, which triggers the gate. Lastly, walk inside and grab the first Magic Trace. 

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 2: Head back and take the right path (around the broken bench). Climb the rightmost wooden planks leading to the upper platform. Parkour around the platforms until you discover the third Magic Trace. Turn left to unload the pulley close to your location. Find your way back to the planks by using your jumping skills. Reach a place where Reparo triggers to make a new path for the second Magic Trace. 

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 3: Jump back to the previous platform you stood on (while unloading the pulley). However, this time, look behind for the opposite platform and cast “Depulso” to raise the platform close to your level. Parkour towards the platform and grab the final Magic Trace.

#18: Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Hotspot Marunweem Bridge Lake 2 

Pick the Marunweem Bridge Floo Flame for the next Hotspot. Reach the bridge, walk through it, and activate the Hotspot on the other side.

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 1: Prepare and cast “Reparo,” making a new platform above you. Walk along the stairs and reach the platforms ahead. Grab the first Magic Trace along the way. 

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 2: Reuse the repaired platform. Walk over the stairs and move across the plank. Draw the bridge by preparing and casting “Depulso” around the highlighted platform. Afterward, reach the castle entrance. Lastly, cast “Alohomora” and unlock the guarding door leading to the second Magic Trace. 

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 3: Leave the unlocked door behind and look to the ledge (on your right). You’ll find the final Magic Trace floating above the water. Equip and use your broom and grab it.

Pick the West Manor Cape Floo “portal” for the next Hotspot. Equip and use your Broom to fly northeast looking for the Manor. Invite yourself in, and the Hotspot location should appear next to some stairs.

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 1: Run up the stairs and use spells to break the wooden platform, triggering the falling crate. Use “Levioso,” and prepare the crate as a hop-up platform that helps you reach the top. Move to the right and grab the first Magic Trace. 

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 2: “Sneak” (crouch) through the planks and move close to the opposite platform. Move the camera and find some vines (to your right) covering a hole in the wall. Use a burning spell (like Incendio) to destroy the vines and jump across the newly unlocked area. Pass through the planks and parkour to the platform that gives you access to the second Magic Trace. 

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 3: Move through the planks until you reach a locked door. Prepare and cast “Alohomora,” which helps you unlock the door. Find an interactive Frog Statue inside to grab the last Magic Trace. 

#20: Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Hotspot Cragcroftshire

Teleport using the Cragcroftshire Floo Flame for the Hogwarts Legacy Final Ancient Magic Hotspot. Equip your Broom and fly southeast. Reach the final ruins. Move close to the stairs and walk up through the building’s entrance. Find the final Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Hotspot.

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 1: Use the staircase and reach for a vine-covered window at the end of the stairs. Prepare and cast a burning spell (like Incendio) to take down the vines. Jump through the unlocked area, and you’ll land on another platform. Climb the ladders and walk across the path to find the first Magic Trace. 

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 2: Return to the freed window and move back into the building. Parkour onto a close platform, then into the staircase for the second Magic Trace.

Hogwarts Legacy Ancient Magic Trace 3: Jump back to the platform ahead and keep moving until you reach the tower’s roof. Find the final Magic Trace close to the right corner pillar.
