Hogwarts Legacy is filled with magical beasts, interesting backstories, and a plethora of interesting quests. If you have made it to the Autumn term in the Hogwarts School, you will eventually unlock the High Keep as the 27th main story quest. While the mission is pretty straightforward, you might get stuck when climbing the battlements to open the gate for Natty.
The only problem is that you can’t use your Broom, and the ledges are impossible to climb without some magic spells. So, how to climb the battlements in Hogwarts Legacy? Here is a complete High Keep walkthrough to help you overcome all obstacles, let’s get started:
Hogwarts Legacy: High Keep Walkthrough
You will unlock the High Keep quest after learning Wingardium Leviosa from Professor Garlick’s first assignment. She has tracked down the poachers to a ruined castle near the Hogsmeade village. So, you must enter the castle to collect solid evidence against Harlow and Rookwood’s shady business and connect them to the mysterious events around Hogwarts Castle.
So, meet with Natty near the Falbarton Castle to discuss your next strategies. You can easily reach this location by going northeast from the Hogsmeade Village on either your Broom or a tamed beast mount. However, Natty tells you that the main gate is locked from the inside and you must find a way in and open the gate for her.
Where is the Battlements Hogwarts Legacy?
The only way to get inside the Falbarton Castle is to climb the battlements and solve a few easy puzzles. We found the battlements by going right from the main gate while looking upwards. When you spot the broken-down carriage, that’s your clue to start the climb.
To start the climb, simply approach the broken wall and press the jump button to climb the ledge. Repeat the step for the second ledge and keep climbing until you find a barred door with a mysterious lever on its left side.
Hogwarts Legacy Climb the Battlements: First Puzzle
If you can’t find the lever, just use the Revelio spell and go near the blue highlights. Next, aim at the lever and keep hitting it with Depulso until it locks in place. You will find a large wooden box inside the room, which is the key to the High Keep Hogwarts Legacy climb the battlements first puzzle.
Aim at the wooden box and use Accio to pull the box outside the room and take it to the right side under the unreachable ledge above. Oh, and don’t forget to loot the collection chest behind the wooden box, we got a lightning potion from it. Next, aim at the wooden box and use Wingardium Leviosa to levitate it in the air, making a virtual platform for you. Finally, press jump while standing near the box to climb and again jump to climb the unreachable ledge to make your way to the next section of the puzzle.
How to Climb the Battlements Hogwarts Legacy? Second Puzzle
Once you reach the second floor, turn left and follow the stony path until you find a wooden frame barricading the entrance. You can easily blow this next obstacle with either Confringo or Bombarda spell. However, there is a second smaller opening inside this room, and it is blocked with another wooden box.
If you go around the path on the outside, you will find a small sac with some random loot in it. Turn around near the sac and look through the small window so that you can see the wooden box through it. Next, use Accio to pull the wooden box and open your path to the next room with the High Keep second puzzle.
In this room, you will find a letter on the ground with instructions about the ‘climb the battlements Hogwarts Legacy open the main gate’ objective. Next, cast the Revelio spell to locate the lever to open the door and the handle to pull the bridge. We recommend that you add both Depulso and Accio to your spell slots before moving forward.
Go near the rotatable lever and cast Depulso ‘3 times’ (this is important) to lock the large door in place. Finally, aim at the round handle and use Accio to pull the bridge. If you still can’t climb the battlements Hogwarts Legacy second puzzle, simply pull the wooden box near the bridge, use Leviosa to suspend it in the air, and then climb the bridge with a simple jump.
How Do You Climb the Battlements in Hogwarts Legacy? Final Puzzle
Okay, so you have made it this far in the High Keep quest, now it’s time for some action. Once you solve the second puzzle, you will again meet Natty and proceed to the next section of the quest. Here, you will find the poachers trying to subdue a large white Hippogriff by torturing it. Again, you will get separated from Natty, and now you must find your way to the rooftops to free the poor creature.
Start your climb by using the ledges on the right side of the blocked wooden door. Next, go inside the small opening and push the wooden box with Depulso. Jump down or go around and use the stairs. Either way, drag the wooden box using Accio to the unreachable ledge, elevate it with Leviosa, and finally jump on it to climb the ledge.
Finally, use the Disillusionment spell to go invisible and pass through the guards without any trouble. If you can’t pass through the patrol, you can use the Petrificus Totalus spell to take down the guards without alerting others. In the end, you will free the Hippogriff and fly on it with Natty to escape from the remaining poachers, marking the end of the High Keep quest.
