Over the past few years there has been a lot of people stating that female streamers are ruining Twitch? With lots of female streamers wearing little to no clothing and the rise of stuff like the Hot Tub Meta it’s easy to see how other streamers may get annoyed.
Are Female Streamers Ruining Twitch?
No, female streamers are not ruining Twitch. It’s not fair to say that female streamers as a whole are ruining the platform. Ultimately it is just a few bad actors who are gaming the system and are making a lot of money doing it.
Twitch is primarily a gaming website at heart however at one point in time when you arrived on the home page it seemed more like a cam site. You would see multiple streams on your home feed of women in bikinis, sitting in hot tubs.

I think we also have to ask the question, is it these girls faults or is it Twitch’s fault. Twitch knows that this is happening yet do little about.
Things do seem to have died down a lot from Peak hot tub meta. Twitch have added a section for “Hot tub streamers” called Pools, Hot Tubs and beaches.
Ultimately if Twitch let this type of content on the platform what do we expect. You can’t blame these girls for taking advantage of the platform to grow their followings, while also pulling in a ton of money.
In a Twitch leak last year it was revealed that Top hot tub streamer Amouranth pulled in $1,378,791 from August 2019 to October 2021. This is only taking into account subscriptions and bits. She likely made a lot more money from donations and off platform services.
That’s a lot of money. If people want to watch and donate you can’t blame these women from streaming. Twitch likely don’t want to outlaw the content because they get 50% of Twitch subscriptions as well as a cut of Twitch bits.
These streamers pull in a lot of money for Twitch and they don’t want to lose that source of revenue.
If someone has to do anything about this its Twitch. Female streamers aren’t ruining Twitch, Twitch are. There are tons of amazing female Twitch streamers creating great content in gaming, reactions and more.
