In the ever-evolving battleground of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s DMZ mode, players face a multitude of challenges. One such challenge is the infamous Bullfrog boss – a formidable adversary in its own unique Tactical Amphibious Vehicle (TAV).
This comprehensive guide will provide you with strategic advice on locating, engaging, and ultimately defeating this boss, transforming a seemingly insurmountable hurdle into a triumphant victory.
How To Find The Bullfrog DMZ
The Bullfrog boss is an exciting addition to the game in the fourth season, and can exclusively be found on the new map, Vondel. This boss does not walk around but rides in a unique, heavily armored TAV which has the ability to travel from water to land effortlessly, giving the Bullfrog boss an advantage in mobility.
Players are alerted when the Bullfrog boss spawns at a random location on the edge of the map, usually entering from water onto land. Sometimes, it will use the canals of Vondel to get around. He spawns in when the in-game timer hits 17 Minutes 30 Seconds.
This means players must strategize on how to follow this vehicle either from the shore or in their own boats. The boss is also visible on the tactical map, marked by a weapons case icon. Be prepared though, this boss is elusive – it will traverse around the map for a while before sailing off the map boundaries and despawning for a few minutes. But keep an eye out, it will return at another random location on the map.
Engaging the Bullfrog
Once you have located the Bullfrog, you need to plot your attack. Note that it is not possible to use other vehicles to create a roadblock, as the boss’s TAV can cause critical damage to any vehicles it encounters. Make sure to keep your distance when chasing him down.
Given the Bullfrog’s tactical advantage and mobility, the primary strategy is to follow the boss around the map and engage with it in combat. This requires a certain level of patience and persistence as the boss won’t stop for anything or anyone.
Be careful when following him as he will also drop trip mines causing you damage.
Tools and Weapons for the Battle
As the boss is in a heavily armored vehicle, specific tools and weapons are more effective than others. We recommend you arm yourself with shock sticks, the Anti-Armor Rounds field upgrade, explosives, and perhaps a launcher. These are all particularly effective against the Bullfrog’s TAV as they deal extra damage to vehicles.
Some players also use unconventional strategies. For instance, some gamers have successfully lured the Bullfrog into an exfil chopper’s landing zone, resulting in an instant kill when the boss drives into the chopper. This strategy requires a good sense of timing and an understanding of the Bullfrog’s path around the map.
If you can make it to the spawn site of the TAV you can hit it with an EMP to stop it for a few seconds and actually jump on top. You will not take any damage while on top of it, and can put out damage until you take it out.
Getting The Weapon Case
Once the Bullfrog is defeated, a notification is broadcast across the lobby. The vanquished Bullfrog leaves behind six weapon cases which can be picked up from the smoky wreckage of the boss’s TAV. So not only do you get the satisfaction of taking down one of the game’s toughest bosses, but you are also rewarded handsomely for your efforts.
Wrapping Up
With these strategies in hand, you are now better equipped to take on the Bullfrog boss in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s DMZ mode. Remember, patience and persistence are key in this battle. Best of luck, and happy gaming!
