Video Game Kickstarter Stats: Numbers Are Up

Video game Kickstarters raised-overall-$46,177,705 in 2015, according to stats released on the Kickstarter website. This is substantially up from 2014, though the numbers didn’t quite hit the high that 2013 saw. There were 421 successful video game Kickstarters, though whether we’ll see a finished product from all of them remains to be seen.

Almost 25% of the money came from the Shenmue III and Bloodstained crowdfunding efforts, which brought in $6.3 million and $5.5 million, respectively.

Kickstarter also reported that tabletop games actually raised far more money than video game projects-$88,916,039.
