Ubisoft is speaking up after a player got banned for sharing a screenshot of an NPC’s genitalia using the PlayStation Network. The screenshot showed a dead woman on the sidewalk with her crotch visible.
There was never any secret that there was going to be some nudity in the game, but this particular NPC’s private parts were rendered with a ton of details (as you can see in the extremely NSFW screenshot).
Ubisoft addresses the extremely explicit nature of NPC in a statement to Polygon, saying “We’re aware that one of the NPC models in Watch Dogs 2 is rendered in a way that is particularly explicit. While Watch Dogs 2 is a mature-rated game, we apologize and will update this NPC model to make it more consistent with other NPC models in the game in a patch to be released this week. We also are working with our first-party partners to ensure that players can continue to play and share all content from the game within the bounds of the first parties’ respective codes of conduct.”
The player, who was initially suspended for a week for using the PSN’s share feature to tweet the graphic picture, then had that suspension extended to a month over the issue. But good news for that player, his ban has now been lifted.
