That’s right, an episodic, narrative Batman game is in the works. Telltale Games is teaming up with Warner Bros. Interactive and DC Entertainment to release a still-unnamed game about the masked vigilante himself. It’s coming in 2016.
“At Telltale, we’ve been honored to bring our unique approach to interactive storytelling to some of the biggest entertainment franchises in the world,” said Kevin Bruner, Co-Founder and CEO of Telltale Games in a Telltale blog post, “and we’re excited to announce that we’ll soon be exploring what it means to be Batman in an all-new series starting next year. This iteration of Batman will give fans a first-hand opportunity to dive deeper into the complex life and mind of Bruce Wayne, the duality of his own identity, and the struggle of responsibility in saving a city overcome with corruption and villainy.”
A short trailer for the game aired during tonight’s Game Awards, and will be available later this week to watch and rewatch and rewatch…
[Update: You can watch the trailer right now!]
David Haddad, President, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment., was quoted in the same blog post, “We look forward to working with the team as they deliver a new interactive way for fans and gamers to experience the rich narrative world of Batman.”
The game will be released first for PC, Mac, and mobile devices.
