Tales From the Borderlands Episode 1 is Free

Tales From the Borderlands episode 5, titled The Vault of the Traveler, is coming out October 20, Telltale just announced. For PlayStation, at any rate-Xbox One and Xbox 360 will get the game a day later, and mobile a day later still. Also of interest: the series first episode is free. You can watch a sort of story overview here, with a glimpse of the last episode at the very end. Warning for minor spoilers though:

Tales From the Borderlands is Telltale’s take on the Borderlands series from Gearbox. While the original games are FPS (with elements of RPG), Tales is much more story-focused, and follows the general formula that all Telltale’s games do. You’ll make choices that lead to branching storylines, and try your best not to make your friends hate you. The game maintains the general tongue-in-cheek, gritty-but-silly feel of the original series, though.

If you’ve been meaning to pick Tales From the Borderlands up and haven’t got around to it, a free episode is a good incentive to do it. If you’re not sure about it, you at least have my recommendation-it’s one of my favorite series so far.

Tales From the Borderlands is available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC, Mac, iOS, and Android.
