Sons of The Forest is the long-awaited sequel to The Forest. The game is currently the most wish-listed game on Steam and fans are excited to jump in and play this survival horror game.
The sequel has a much larger map, a new story, a revamped crafting system, and even new enemies to take on. It’s only a matter of time before you can jump in and start playing this second addition to the series. Let’s take a look at some important information you need to know before release.

Sons of the Forest will be released in early access for $29.99 (£24.99) on Steam. This was announced by Endnight Games back in August of 2022 on their Twitter.
Currently, on Steam, you can add the game to your wishlist but you are unable to purchase or pre-order the game until the official early access is released.
Sons Of The Forest Release Date
Sons of The Forest is set to release on the 23rd February 2023 on Steam as an Early Access game. You can log in to your Steam account and navigate to the Sons of The Forest page to view a countdown clock to release.
Sons of The Forest is set to release at the same time around the world. Here are the exact release times around the world.
- US West: 9am PST
- US East: 12pm EST
- UK: 5pm GMT
- Europe: 6pm CET
While we haven’t heard any of this information directly from the developers themselves, this is the early access release time set on Steam.
This is an Early Access version of the game meaning that there may be bugs and parts of the game incomplete. Endnight Games have stated that they expect the early access period to last approximately 6-8 months however this will vary as time goes on.
Can You Pre-load Sons Of The Forest?
You are unable to pre-order or pre-load Sons Of The Forest. We expect the game to drop when the countdown timer ends on Steam. The game is around 20GB in size so the download shouldn’t take too long. You may also be able to play the game before the download fully completes.

Is Sons Of The Forest Coming To Console?
Sons of the Forest will initially release on PC through Steam in Early access. The Early access period is expected to last 6-8 months, leaving us expecting a full release around quarter 4 of 2023.
However, we have heard no indication from the developers that the game will release on consoles. While we don’t have any official confirmation, we do expect it to eventually release on console as the original game ‘The Forest” released on PS4 and Xbox One.
