Do you like Uncharted? Have you been intensely awaiting the fourth entry in the series? Well, you’re going to have to wait a little bit longer. Naughty Dog has told us that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will be coming a month later than previously planned. The exact date is April 26, 2016. In a post on the official PlayStation blog, Neil Druckman, creative director and Bruce Straley, game director said:
“This is our largest Uncharted game to date, and the team has been working incredibly hard to meet the challenge of closing out the game’s development in a timely manner. However, as we approached our final deadlines and started wrapping up the game’s levels, we realized that several key sequences needed extra resources to bring them to the finish line.” This is corporate speak for “big parts of the game don’t work now and we need to change that.” (Translation is my own.) In any event, hopefully the extra time will be enough to make Uncharted 4 as good as Naughty Dog is promising.
In other delay news, The Definitive Edition of Ori and the Blind Forest won’t be available until an undisclosed date in 2016. The new edition will feature new content as well as fan feedback. I would like to see them tone down the difficulty, but I would guess that’s probably not possible given the way the game is designed. Makes me wonder what the fan feedback is, exactly. Guess we’ll have to wait until next year to see.
