Campo Santo’s Firewatch Heading to the Big Screen

Developer Campo Santo is bring their critically acclaimed game Firewatch to the big screen, with the help of the production company Good Universe, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The indie game Firewatch is set in the wilderness of Wyoming, and it follows the story of a fire lookout named Henry as he investigates mysterious occurrences. The only person Henry interacts with is his supervisor, Delilah, and only via a walkie-talkie.

Sean Vanaman, the founder of Campo Santo, talked about how excited his team is to partner with Good Universe. “When we met Good Universe we were floored by how they recognize, cultivate and produce incredible stories. It’s rare you meet another group that shares so many of your values and makes the process of creating things even more exciting. We can’t wait to see what we make together.”

What makes this partnership really interesting is that it doesn’t appear to be a collaboration for just one movie. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the companies have teamed up to develop content for both video games and feature films. So it’s possible that Good Universe and Campo Santo will develop stories that will exist as both a video game and a movie.
