Update: Rockstar has officially announced the upcoming release of Red Dead Redemption 2 for Fall 2017 for Xbox One and PS4.
On Sunday, Rockstar Games tweeted an image of their logo on a splotchy red background, causing the internet to immediately speculate if this could be the prelude to a Red Dead Redemption 2 announcement.

And just this morning, they tweeted an image showing seven silhouettes. The image also fills the screen when you visit their homepage, and is the first post on their Rockstar Newswire.

Could the seven people pictured be the new cast of characters to a Red Dead Redemption 2 game? Even though Rockstar is plastering the image everywhere, they are not actually saying anything. So far there has been no word on exactly what these images mean or what they portend.
Red Dead Redemption is an open-world western adventure game set in the early 1900’s, complete with gun battles, train robberies and bounty hunting. The game was published in 2010, and debuted to both critical and fan acclaim. Just this summer Red Dead Redemption became backwards compatible on Xbox One.
Hopefully Rockstar will put us out of our misery soon with an official statement about what these pictures mean.
