Candy Crush Being Turned Into a TV Game Show

CBS, along with Lionsgate and King, are turning the popular mobile game Candy Crush Saga into a TV game show. Their press release says that teams of two people will “use their wits and physical agility to compete on enormous, interactive game boards featuring next generation technology to conquer CANDY CRUSH and be crowned the champions.”

The studio has tapped Matt Kunitz (Fear Factor, Wipeout) to be the executive producer of the show. Kunitz says he actually already plays Candy Crush and he’s excited to see those visuals translate to the big screen. “The Candy Crush franchise lends itself perfectly to the kind of larger-than-life, physical game shows that I love to produce and CBS is the perfect home for it.”

The live-action game show will be an hour-long series. The President of CBS Entertainment said that fans viewers will also be able to play along at home, though how that will work is yet to be seen. So far no release date has been set, nor have they announced a host for the series.
