The Assassin’s Creed Film Is Entering Post-Production

According to a tweet from Assassin’s Creed head of content Aymar Azaïzia, filming has wrapped on the Assassin’s Creed film!

The film is scheduled to be released on December 21. It stars Michael Fassbender, Jeremy Irons, Marion Cotillard, and Ariane Labed.

The film will be an original story set in the Assassin’s Creed universe, with Michael Fassbender playing an Assassin named Aguilar in 15th century Spain, as well as his descendent Callum Lynch in the modern day.

Jeremy Irons’ role has been teased in the marketing already. He plays the CEO of Abstergo Industries, the Templar-aligned corporation that developed the Animus. The film was directed by Justin Kurzel, who directed Fassbender and Cotillard in Macbeth as well.
