ARK: Survival Evolved is getting an Xbox One edition, as suggested by developer Studio Wildcard. The game is coming to console via Xbox One’s Early Access Game Preview program. ARK: Survival Evolved is still in Early Access on Steam, as well, despite having sold more than 2 million copies so far.
The game should be arriving sometime this winter. Players will be able to do a free trial before they decide if they want to commit.
ARK: Survival Evolved is a survival simulator with dinosaurs. Reviewer Eric Watson says the game reminded him of Jurassic Park, and there’s a heavy dose of Dinotopia in the mix as well: “Dinosaur taming and riding is the biggest selling point of the game. It’s a time-consuming process that involves knocking the prospective dino unconscious, then feeding it food as you nurse it back to health.”
Because the game is still in Early Access, you can expect a few technical issues. Watson said it was the most compelling survival game he’d played to date, however. And who doesn’t love dinosaurs?
