2017 IGF Award Nominees Include Hyper Light Drifter, Virginia, Inside

The Independent Games Festival has announced their nominees for their 2017 IGF Awards, with Virginia, Hyper Light Drifter, and Inside snagging multiple nominations apiece.

IGF sifted through more than 650 entries this year. Those games were parceled out to a group of experts from across the industry. The juries evaluated the games based on the specific award they were assigned to. For instance, some juries were specifically grading a game based on its audio, while a different jury was looking for excellence in narrative.

The winners will be announced at the IGF Awards, which will take place Wednesday, March 1st at the San Francisco Mosconne Convention Center. The host of the night is Nina Freeman, who won the 2016 IGF Nuovo Award for her game Cibele. The Developers Choice Awards will follow right after the IGF Awards.
