13 of AGDQ’s Finest Women to Watch

Awesome Games Done Quick, the weeklong non-stop speedrunning marathon that raised over $2.2 million for the Prevent Cancer Foundation, wrapped up last week. If that left you at a loss of what to watch in your spare time, or if you got hooked on the concept of speedrunning, why not check out some of the women and non-binary folk who attended the event?

YellowKillerBee

Currently speedrunning Super Mario World and Quackshot at her Twitch, which focuses on family friendly content. She is also a member of Girls on Fire, a speedrunning team formed entirely of women – you can find them on Twitter and Twitch too.

ProtoMagicalGirl

One of the most prolific couch commentators and donation readers, she speedruns a variety of classic games and Tetris the Grand Master at her Twitch. She is a member of Girls on Fire and a role model for other trans women in the community.

SkyBilz

SkyBilz streams speedruns of 2D Mario games at both her Twitch and with Retro Gaming Live, a mixed group that streams a variety of content, including speedruns.

SageV3

Sage speedruns, most often The Binding of Isaac, as well as playing a variety of indie games at her Twitch.

EnchantressOfNumbers

One of the few women to do an actual run at the event (rather than being a commentator or donation reader), her run of Tetris with Cardcaptor Sakura: Eternal Heart can be watched here. (Content warning for transphobia in the comments.) On her Twitch, she speedruns various Tetris games as well as Zelda II.

EeveeSpiritt

A non-binary streamer who speedruns games like New Super Mario Bros. 2 and Pikmin 3; Eevee is also a member of the Twitch group Transcend which is a community for trans streamers.

Queenulhu

Not a speedrunner herself, but she streams various games as well as art, often combined with ASMR (soft spoken commentary to aid relaxation) at her Twitch.

PurpleGhostKasper

She streams speedruns of games like Super Mario Sunshine among other games played more casually, and occasionally marathons of completing jigsaw puzzles on stream!

LaceyStripes

Another member of Girls on Fire, Lacey speedruns various Mario games as well as streaming more casual games.

Edobean

A speedrunner of popular games like Tetris and Zelda as well as casually playing many other games Twitch, Edobean is also a Let’s Player on YouTube, and yet another Girls on Fire member.

RandomPinkBunny

Her AGDQ run of Woolfe: The Red Hood Diaries can be watched here if you missed it. (Content warning for transphobia in the comments.) On her Twitch, she predominantly streams casual games with occasional speedruns.

EmilyBrooks

Emily streams various speedruns at her Twitch (linked above), including Zelda, Mario, and Pikmin. Her eventual aim is to speedrun Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, The Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and Skyward Sword in less than 18 consecutive hours. Considering this is a feat only achieved by four people before, it’s certainly something to keep an eye on!

Brittany

Last but not least, Brittany streams Ocarina of Time speedruns and legend rank Hearthstone games at her Twitch.

So there you have it, thirteen streamers – and ways to find more, like Girls on Fire and Transcend – to tide you over until Summer Games Done Quick!
