Unity and Open Gaming Alliance Launch Professional Speakers Bureau for Women in Games

The Open Gaming Alliance in partnership with Unity Technologies have launched a professional speakers bureau for women in games, entertainment, VR/AR and technology called WISER.

WISER (Women in Software and Entertainment Representation) is a collective of women professionals in the gaming industry that are interested in speaking at panels, presenting at events, teaching workshops, and emceeing. WISER’s goal is to focus on and normalize the women who are currently in the gaming industry, by increasing their visibility and empowering women to speak about their areas of expertise. Wanda Meloni, executive director of the Open Gaming Alliance and CEO of M2 Advisory Group said in a press release “We believe having a wide range of experiences and voices does more to help business excel.”

Unity also recently showed their commitment to increasing the gender diversity in the gaming community with their Women in Gaming workshop series. Like WISER, the Women in Gaming series was focused on having women participating in the conversation. Unity Chief People Officer Elizabeth Brown said “By making it easier for qualified women to contribute to the conversation, we can ensure their voices are heard and contributions recognized while continuing to lay the groundwork for the next generation of professionals to come.”

Professional women who are interested in speaking should check out the WISER website and fill out the speaker registration form. The Open Gaming Alliance will then work with conference organizers to see if they can place you as a speaker. They only allow verified event organizers and affiliates to access their database of professional speakers.
