Addiktz Offering $1,200 Scholarship for Women to Game More

Addiktz, a website that covers social, mobile, eSports and MMORPG gaming, is offering a $1,200 scholarship to female gamers who would like to become an entertainer (aka stream on Twitch or make YouTube videos) or who would like to try to become a professional eSports athlete.

Addiktz is offering the scholarship to women gamers because while there has been a huge increase in the number of women who game, there is still a lot of sexism and harassment leveled at female gamers. Also, women in the gaming industry get paid less on average than men, regardless of their position. Because of these hardships, Addiktz says women who are pursing a career as a gaming entertainer or pro eSports athlete can use all the help they can get.

To apply for the scholarship, you have to create a user profile and then fill out a questionnaire, which you can find on their website. There are no age restrictions, and you do not need to already be streaming or competing. All they are looking for is a plan on how you hope to create your career. If you win, there are no restrictions on how you use the money.

The deadline to apply is June 7, 2016. Winning applicants will be personally notified and promoted on the Addiktz site.
